I shot this test with Wallflower Management's new face JaQuan and the incredibly talented stylist Tiffany Hicks (Independent Artists). There's nothing quite like shooting outside in Texas in the summer....

New Work: A Hard Night's Day

I shot Beatles cover band A Hard Night's Day for the current issue of Modern Luxury Dallas. Many many thanks to Lakewood Theater owner Wayne Roden for granting us permission to shoot at the historic and beautiful venue.

I shot a test with Wallflower Management's new face JaQuan last week. I grabbed this portrait in between setups. My thanks to JaQuan and Wallflower for their time. I'll post the test soon.

R.I.P. Dr. Milam B. Pharo

I had the privilege of shooting Dr. Pharo last September for Dallas Child Magazine. The magazine's photo editor, Lauren, had gone to Dr. Pharo throughout her childhood, and at 87, he was still a practicing pediatrician. He had a very fun and self-effacing manner, and it was a pleasure getting to spend the better part of an hour with him. He passed away on Sunday at his home.

I was quite surprised to receive an e mail from Lauren saying that Dr. Pharo's staff has asked to use the shot that ran with the article for his funeral service. I of course agreed and feel honored by the request.

I recently had the opportunity to shoot DJ Elizabeth Farrell for Modern Luxury Magazine. My many thanks to Elizabeth, Modern Luxury, and the fantastic people at The Gin Mill for letting us shoot there.

New Portrait: Phil Romano

I shot Phil Romano outside the future site of his new development at the foot of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge: Trinity Groves' Restaurant Incubator. This was a very tricky assignment, as the project is actually still in its infancy. It was a pleasure to shoot Phil - creator of Romano's Macaroni Grill, Nick & Sam's and Fuddruckers (where the 6th grade version of this photographer had his first date) - and to hear about all the future residents of the development, including a brewery, a BBQ joint and over a dozen other projects.
